About the Role
A Special Procedures Tech in the Cath Lab performs complex radiologic procedures to assist in diagnosing diseases and injuries and acts as an assistant to physicians during invasive radiological interventions.
Responsibilities
- Perform special and invasive radiology procedures while ensuring radiation safety and image quality.
- Prepare patients, explain procedures, administer contrast, and position patients appropriately.
- Monitor and enter patient data, perform equipment quality assurance, and assist with accreditation processes.
- Report accidents and malfunctions, and participate in emergency calls.
- Uphold safety standards, policies, and procedures to ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Support professional growth through ongoing education, mentoring, and serving as a resource for less experienced staff.
- Provide compassionate, personalized patient experiences aligned with service standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Current or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board and ARRT-R certification.
- Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
- Ability to lift and maneuver patients.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment.
