Special Procedure Technologist (Radiologic Technologist), Cardiac Catheter Lab

About the role

The Special Procedures Technologist prepares patients, operates diagnostic and cardiac catheterization equipment, and assists physicians in performing radiology angiographic and interventional procedures to support cardiac and vascular care.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of procedure protocols
• Operate fluoroscopy equipment
• Calibrate and maintain devices
• Assist during procedures by setting up sterile trays
• Handle imaging systems
• Work collaboratively with medical staff in invasive environments
• Ensure safety, image quality, and proper documentation

Qualifications

• Graduate from AMA-approved Radiologic Technology or CVT school
• Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

Skills

• Preferred certifications: RCIS, NJ CXT, ARRT registry, and EKG certification
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
