Special Procedures Technologist, Cardiac Cath Lab

Requirements

• Must hold current RT(R) or RN licensure
• American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification at HCP Level required
• American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification required, or obtained in one year
• Possesses knowledge of cardiac patients, defibrillators, and Code Blue
• Care competent in caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

Qualifications

• Possesses a working knowledge of all equipment, contrast media, and inventory used during procedures
• Maintains performance competency through attendance at required in-service/education program, annual review and maintains credit hours for continued certification

Skills

• Technical skills in physiological recordings
• Knowledge of digital radiography imaging
• Competence with pacemaker programming, testing, and implantation
