Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist

About the Role

Up to a $20,000 sign-on bonus available for eligible applicants. This role involves maintaining and operating equipment and supplies for cardiovascular procedures, ensuring proper setup and sterilization. You will produce accurate and timely medical records for each patient and participate in quality and performance improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes. The position also includes training and supervising new personnel, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and enforcing safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate and timely medical records based on the scope and complexity of the intervention procedure and patient clinical conditions.
  • Train and supervise new personnel, providing orientation and ongoing education.
  • Participate in quality and performance improvement activities.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and enforce safety regulations.
  • Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable regulations.
  • Observe patient during procedure and report abnormal activity; monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform all specialized imaging procedures such as angio, complex vascular and nonvascular interventional, and therapeutic procedures.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of ECG training and arrhythmia interpretation [Required]
  • Knowledge of Cardiovascular anatomy [Required]
  • Knowledge of vascular anatomy [Required]
  • Knowledge of Hemodynamic Monitoring [Required]
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients, their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]
  • Ability to monitor patient blood pressure, ECG, and Pulse Oximetry using sophisticated clinical equipment [Required]
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English [Required]
  • Knowledge of electrophysiology diagnostic procedures [Preferred]
  • Knowledge of interventional radiology procedures [Preferred]
  • Knowledge of peripheral diagnostic procedures [Preferred]
  • Knowledge of peripheral intervention procedures [Preferred]
  • Knowledge of interventional cardiology procedures [Preferred]
  • Basic EKG interpretation [Preferred]

Qualifications

  • Associate degree [Required]
  • Bachelor's degree [Preferred]
  • Field of study in Science
  • 1+ years of experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Preferred]
  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required] OR
  • Registered Technologist - Radiography (R.T.(R)(ARRT)) [Required] OR
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required] OR
