About the role

The Special Operations Community Resource Coordinator (CRC) coordinates, develops, and evaluates programs and services that enhance the resiliency of assigned units and their families. The CRC organizes peer support networks, recruits and trains peer support counselors, and ensures compliance with USSOCOM CRC standards. This role involves collecting and reporting data for program evaluations, including focus groups, unit meetings, and feedback from POTFF Psychologists, Chaplains, Ombudsmen, and Family Readiness Group staff. The CRC must possess extensive knowledge of DoD resources such as Military OneSource, Military Family Life Counselors (MFLC), Personal Financial Counselors (PFC), and the Military Crisis Line.

Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and report activity of peer counseling networks for Service members and family member spouses.
• Report activity using specified tools and frequencies as required by the Social Performance program manager or POTFF staff.
• Conduct and/or contribute to Family Orientation, Information, Outreach, and Referrals.
• Conduct and/or contribute to Pre- and Post-deployment Preparation, Reintegration, and Decompression activities.
• Conduct and/or contribute to Family Relational Enhancement activities.
• Conduct and/or contribute to unit-level career transition programs for military members and spouses.
• Conduct and/or contribute to Social/Family and Psychological Program implementation, including suicide prevention and cognitive agility training.
• Maintain awareness of and educate on installation and local community behavioral health and resiliency resources.
• Assist with the development of standard operating procedures and service provision protocols.
• Serve as the Commander’s liaison for community and family support matters.
• Communicate on behalf of the Command using various media and social media platforms.
• Maintain awareness of emergency response protocols.
• Identify and document program/service needs and evaluation data.
• Develop needs-based programming for specific demographic groups and geographic locations.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in education, human/social services, or a related field, or four years of experience as a volunteer or in providing social service education, work/family life consultation, or coordination services.
• Specialized training in peer support counseling, community resources, referrals, and suicide prevention (willingness to receive training if not already completed).
• Stay current on best practices and developments in peer support counseling and suicide prevention.
• Knowledge of DoD, Service, and community-sponsored resources promoting the well-being of service members and their families.

Desired Qualifications

• Prior military and/or Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience is highly desired.

Pay

Base compensation range for Oahu, HI: $65,704.12–$72,802.05. The offered rate will be based on contract affordability, location, knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and internal parity. Additional compensation may include bonuses, commissions, sign-on bonuses, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
