About the Role

The Special Operations Community Resource Coordinator (CRC) is responsible for coordinating, developing, and evaluating programs and services that enhance the resiliency of assigned units’ forces and families. The CRC will organize and oversee peer support networks, recruit and vet peer support counselors, and ensure compliance with USSOCOM CRC standards. This role involves collecting and reporting data for evaluating peer support and community-based programs, including focus groups, unit meetings, and resilience program evaluations.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, maintain, and report on peer counseling networks for Service members and family member spouses.
  • Conduct and contribute to Family Orientation, Information, Outreach, and Referrals.
  • Support Pre- and Post-deployment Preparation, Reintegration, and Decompression activities.
  • Facilitate Family Relational Enhancement activities.
  • Contribute to unit-level career transition programs for military members and spouses.
  • Implement Social/Family and Psychological Programs, including suicide prevention and cognitive agility training.
  • Maintain awareness of and educate on installation and local community behavioral health and resiliency resources.
  • Assist in developing standard operating procedures and service provision protocols.
  • Serve as the Commander’s liaison for community and family support matters.
  • Communicate on behalf of the Command using various media and social platforms.
  • Maintain awareness of emergency response protocols.
  • Identify and document program/service needs and evaluation data.
  • Develop needs-based programming for specific demographic groups and geographic locations.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, human/social services, or a related field, or four years of experience in social service education, work/family life consultation, or coordination services (including volunteer experience).
  • Willingness to undergo specialized training in peer support counseling, community resources, referrals, and suicide prevention.
  • Commitment to staying current on best practices in peer support counseling, suicide prevention, and DoD/community resources for service members and families.
  • Extensive knowledge of DoD resources, including Military OneSource, Military Family Life Counselors (MFLC), Personal Financial Counselors (PFC), and the Military Crisis Line.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior military and/or Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience.
