Special Operations Communication Systems Project Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Lead Project Manager to support sustainment efforts for various Special Operations Forces (SOF) commands. This position is located in Chesapeake, VA. Applicants must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to Chesapeake, VA or surrounding areas. No relocation assistance is provided.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
• Coordinate and communicate with SOF commands, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project requirements are met.
• Utilize knowledge of the specialized L3Harris family of Falcon radios and communication systems across all frequency bands.
• Travel as required, including CONUS travel and potentially to OCONUS locations.
• Manage project resources—including personnel, equipment, and budget—to achieve project goals.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, and develop and implement risk‑management plans.
• Develop and maintain relationships with SOF commands and stakeholders to ensure continued support and collaboration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field (if business, a technical minor or relevant military experience is required) + minimum 5 years of related experience, OR an Associate degree + minimum 7 years of related experience.
• At least 3 years of experience working with the L3Harris Falcon family of radios.
• At least 3 years of experience working with Special Operations Forces.
• Project management experience with strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or the M365 suite of applications.
• Preferred: experience with SOF commands or similar organizations, knowledge of C5ISR systems and sustainment processes, experience managing large‑scale maintenance efforts, and familiarity with Agile project‑management methodologies.

Pay

Full‑Time Salary Range: $105,254 – $178,931. This range reflects market pay structures; individual salaries are determined by business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
