Special Investigations Field - Investigator I

About the role

The Cincinnati Insurance Companies' Special Investigations Unit is seeking a Special Investigator to support a territory based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This position is responsible for investigations throughout Minnesota, portions of North Dakota and South Dakota, and northwestern Iowa, where CIC conducts business.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually. Pay is based on the applicant's education, experience, location, knowledge, skills and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly investigate questionable insurance claims and, if the evidence warrants, refer to law enforcement.

Requirements

• 5 years or more of investigative experience interacting with law enforcement, public investigative agencies and state governmental agencies
• Preferred experience in courtroom testimony on the local, state or Federal level
• Knowledge of civil and criminal law
• Ability to self-start
• Discipline to work in a non-office setting
• Ability to work numerous files at one time, set priorities and stay organized
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to write thorough and detailed reports
• Experience and skills in interviewing
• Knowledge of public speaking skills for training purposes

• Relocation and overnight travel may be necessary.
