About the role

The Special Events Coordinator oversees and coordinates event-related activities involving parking and charter buses on campus. Duties require flexible work schedules depending on event needs, with significant commitments during home football and basketball seasons and annual commencement/graduation activities. This position is weather and special-event essential and involves working with various departments and visiting groups to coordinate parking needs. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate event-related parking and charter-bus activities.
  • Work with campus departments and visiting groups to assess and meet parking needs for events.
  • Plan and allocate parking facilities to accommodate patrons.
  • Analyze parking-control problems and recommend solutions.
  • Supervise or lead the work of subordinate employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in special events and activities.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance.
  • Ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Skills

  • Knowledge of campus parking rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of parking-space requirements and specifications.
  • Knowledge of campus parking lots, buildings, and facilities.
  • Ability to assess parking needs and facilities for the campus.
  • Ability to oversee the activities of subordinate employees.
  • Ability to plan and outline parking facilities to accommodate patrons.
  • Ability to analyze parking-control problems and recommend actions.
  • Ability to supervise or lead the work of others.

Pay

$46,383 – $52,180; commensurate with education and experience.
