About the Role

The Manager, Special Events Sales is responsible for generating non-game day event revenue by prospecting, selling, planning, organizing, and executing events for the Worcester Red Sox. These events may include third-party events, winter festivals, meetings, parties, receptions, concerts, trade shows, banquets, and more. The Special Events Department collaborates with staff from other departments—including Entertainment, Operations, Marketing, Ticketing, and Facilities—to facilitate events regarding staffing, security, technical arrangements, and other applicable services.

Responsibilities

  • Generate continuous lead generation and manage the sales process for all events to maximize revenue.
  • Plan, organize, schedule, market, implement, and coordinate events at the Ballpark.
  • Initiate deployment and logistics for private and public events by collaborating with other departments to ensure event functionality, safety, and success.
  • Create customizable proposals and presentations within assigned deadlines, including written copy and design concept elements.
  • Maintain assigned budget, ensure approval of all final billings for payments, and prepare sales and financial reports.
  • Supervise and coordinate staff for all events, including part-time and volunteer staff.
  • Identify new special event and outreach opportunities through research, networking, and prospecting.
  • Develop marketing strategies, press releases, and creative content pertaining to internal events.
  • Represent the organization in a manner aligned with its core values.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of previous sales or event experience.
  • Organized with excellent communication skills.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a team environment.
  • Able to maintain a flexible schedule and assist with last-minute event requests.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Adobe Cloud experience preferred but not required.
