Manager Sales - Special Events

About the role
The Manager, Sales-Special Events focuses on prospecting, selling, developing, and booking special events and rentals at assigned venue(s) or region. This role involves networking, soliciting, and grassroots marketing to cultivate client relationships and negotiate strategic deals. The Sales Manager participates in developing marketing materials and sales collateral, and negotiates rental agreements and contracts under the direction of the Regional Director Special Events / VP, with a focus on corporate and private events that pose minimal financial risk to the venues or company.
Responsibilities
- Prospect leads through networking, research, and local market engagement.
- Qualify leads by communicating with clients via phone and email, ensuring follow-up within 24 hours for inbound leads.
- Create and respond to proposals for potential events, collaborating with clients to tailor proposals based on event and venue qualifications.
- Collect deposits and execute contracts, including follow-up, addressing client questions, and collaborating with legal counsel to finalize terms.
- Work with accountants to manage deposits and adhere to contract deadlines.
- Develop a marketing budget and plan in collaboration with the Sales Director, leveraging industry experience and trends to target clientele and locations effectively.
- Build relationships with Convention and Visitors Bureaus, Chambers of Commerce, and other associations to promote local business and tourism.
- Maintain frequent communication with past and future clients through phone, email, and in-person meetings to foster trusting relationships and secure repeat business.
Requirements
- BA/BS Degree (4-year).
- 4-6 years of related work experience.
- Experience working with local and national sales teams.
- Proven track record of increasing revenue as an experienced sales professional.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong networking skills and ability to build and foster client relationships to drive new business.
- Ability to market venues and drive new sales.
- Strong knowledge of special events.
- Ability to forecast sales and budget accordingly.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Pay
$66,411.05 - $90,560.44 annually, with eligibility for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
