About the role
The Manager, Sales-Special Events focuses on prospecting, selling, developing, and booking special events and rentals at assigned venue(s) or region. This role involves networking, soliciting, and grassroots marketing to cultivate client relationships and negotiate strategic deals. The Sales Manager participates in developing marketing materials and sales collateral, and negotiates rental agreements and contracts under the direction of the Regional Director of Special Events or VP. The focus is on corporate and private events that pose minimal financial risk to the venues or company.
Responsibilities
- Prospect leads by networking and researching local markets to identify potential clients.
- Qualify leads through repeated communication via phone and email, ensuring inbound leads are contacted within 24 hours.
- Create and respond to proposals for potential events, working directly with clients to tailor proposals based on event and venue qualifications.
- Collect deposits and execute contracts, including follow-up on contract details and redlines with clients and legal teams to achieve mutual agreement.
- Collaborate with accountants to ensure adherence to contract deadlines and financial processes.
- Develop a marketing budget and plan in collaboration with the Sales Director, based on industry trends and local market knowledge.
- Create actionable marketing strategies targeting specific clientele and locations, and build relationships with Convention and Visitors Bureaus, Chambers of Commerce, and related associations.
- Maintain frequent communication with past and future clients through phone, email, and in-person meetings to foster trusting relationships and drive repeat business.
Requirements
- BA/BS Degree (4-year).
- 4-6 years of related work experience.
- Experience working with local and national sales teams.
- Proven track record of increasing revenue as an experienced sales professional.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong networking skills and ability to build and foster client relationships to drive new business.
- Ability to market venues and drive new sales effectively.
- Strong knowledge of special events and ability to forecast sales and budget accordingly.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Pay
$66,411.05 - $90,560.44 annually, with eligibility for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
