Poole School District is seeking a Special Education Vision Teacher for the 26-27 school year.

About the role

The successful candidate will provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, working closely with other special education professionals to ensure comprehensive support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized instruction to students with visual impairments
  • Collaborate with other special education teachers and related service providers
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Assist in the development and implementation of assistive technology solutions
  • Participate in team meetings and IEP conferences

Requirements

  • A valid Washington State Professional Educator License (PEL) with an appropriate endorsement
  • Experience working with students who have visual impairments
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and its integration into classroom settings
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field
  • At least one year of teaching experience in a special education setting
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in using assistive technology tools
