SPECIAL EDUCATION VISION TEACHER (POOL FOR EXTERNAL APPLICANTS)
Poole School District is seeking a Special Education Vision Teacher for the 26-27 school year.
About the role
The successful candidate will provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, working closely with other special education professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized instruction to students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with other special education teachers and related service providers
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Assist in the development and implementation of assistive technology solutions
- Participate in team meetings and IEP conferences
Requirements
- A valid Washington State Professional Educator License (PEL) with an appropriate endorsement
- Experience working with students who have visual impairments
- Knowledge of assistive technology and its integration into classroom settings
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Special Education or related field
- At least one year of teaching experience in a special education setting
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in using assistive technology tools
