Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher provides individualized instruction, supports, and interventions aligned with student IEPs while collaborating with educators, service providers, families, and administrators.
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized instruction and implement IEP accommodations and modifications
- Monitor student progress and use data to guide instruction
- Collaborate with general education staff to support inclusive practices
- Participate in IEP meetings and team consultations
- Support behavior plans and communicate regularly with families
- Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations
Requirements
- Qualified candidates must hold a valid Special Education License
- Committed to supporting students with diverse learning needs
Classroom Settings Available
- Inclusion Resource/Learning Center
- Sub-Separate Classroom (ABA-Embedded)
- Sub-Separate Classroom (Social-Emotional/Therapeutic)
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
