SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS

About the role

The Village Charter School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate should be passionate about working with children and committed to enhancing their social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Responsibilities

• Create fun educational experiences for students
• Plan and implement activities to help students develop physical, mental, emotional, and cognitive skills
• Develop lesson plans based on curriculum
• Maintain school records and create lesson plans
• Ensure the safety of all students
• Maintain a safe learning environment
• Participate in staff meetings, staff development, and curriculum reviews
• Attend staff meetings, parent education sessions, and professional development trainings as needed
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• Education: Special Education (Bachelor's) or related field (Covid-19 compliant) or relevant experience (prospective candidates can take courses online in this field)
• Licenses & Certifications: CPR First Aid Certification or related field (prospective candidates can take courses online in this field)
• Must be COVID-19 vaccinated or willing to be vaccinated as soon as possible
• Must have valid Trenton, NJ Driver's License and reliable transportation
• Willing to work Monday - Friday between 7:00am - 4:00pm
• This position requires frequent travel within Trenton, NJ state

Qualifications

• Full-time position
• Salary range: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

8 hour shift, Monday - Friday between 7:00am - 4:00pm
