Special Education Teachers
About the role
The Niagara Falls City School District seeks passionate and dedicated Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year, with openings at both the elementary and secondary levels. The district is looking for dynamic, collaborative, flexible, and engaging educators who are committed to supporting the diverse needs of all learners. Positions are available for both new and experienced teachers. Candidates must possess appropriate New York State Certification. Experienced educators may be eligible to receive credit for prior years of service in other public school districts.
Responsibilities
- Supporting students with disabilities in a variety of settings
- Collaborating with other educators, parents, and administrators to develop and implement individualized education plans
- Adapting instruction to meet the unique needs of each student
- Evaluating student progress and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
- Incorporating technology into lesson plans to enhance learning
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting student progress to parents and guardians
Requirements
- New York State Certification in Special Education
- Experience working with students with disabilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for making a positive impact on students' lives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Master's degree in Special Education preferred
- Experience in a public school setting
- Knowledge of current best practices in special education
