About the role

We are seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for a K-8 campus in Columbia, SC for the 2026-27 school year.

Responsibilities

Implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
Provide differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs
Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and related service providers
Assess students' progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
Participate in IEP meetings and other professional development activities

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
Valid South Carolina teaching certificate in Special Education
Experience working with students with disabilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations
Experience with assistive technology and accommodations
Excellent organizational and time management skills

Skills

Effective communication and collaboration skills
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
Proficiency in using educational software and tools
