About the role
We are seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for a K-8 campus in Columbia, SC for the 2026-27 school year.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and related service providers
- Assess students' progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Participate in IEP meetings and other professional development activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid South Carolina teaching certificate in Special Education
- Experience working with students with disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations
- Experience with assistive technology and accommodations
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
- Proficiency in using educational software and tools
