Special Education Teacher (School Services) - $2,054 per week

About the role

Centra Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher (SPED) that is certified in the state of practice to work in a school setting. This is a contract, full‑time position. The role assumes responsibility and accountability for incorporating the vision, values, mission and critical goals of the organization into job performance.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Special Education with appropriate NYS Teaching Certification, or Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or a related field with graduate‑level coursework in Special Education and NYS Provisional Certification or Certificate of Qualification.
• Ability to push and pull students in wheelchairs, lift, bend, squat, turn at the knees, pivot, and grasp with both hands (to safely perform CPR/First Aid, behavior‑intervention, and lifting/carrying techniques), with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Current Special Education Teacher certification in the state of practice (NYS).

Pay

Pay package is based on 7.0‑hour shifts and 35.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

• Shift: 7 hours, days (8:30 am – 3:30 pm)
• 35 hours per week
• Duration: 37 weeks
• Start date: ASAP
