Special Education Teacher - Muskegon
About the role
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Teachers to support students in elementary and middle school classrooms. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working with a supportive educational team.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Create and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and accommodations
- Create a structured, positive, and engaging learning environment
- Collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, therapists, and families
- Monitor and document student progress
- Support students' academic, social, behavioral, and communication needs
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement
- Experience working in ASD classrooms required
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Elementary and/or middle school experience preferred
