Special Education Teacher - Mountainside
About the role
The current hiring range for this position is $60,587-$90,000 based on years of experience. As a Special Education Teacher at the Bancroft School-Mountainside, you will design individualized student goals using a wealth of curriculum and clinical resources.
Responsibilities
- Plan, monitor, and implement an instructional lesson plan aligned with NJ Student Learning Standards in all core subjects.
- Make appropriate accommodations and modifications for students with multiple disabilities.
- Assess students' individual abilities and create customized lesson plans.
- Address specific Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and encourage skill-building.
- Review IEPs to ensure goals are appropriate and recommend modifications.
- Provide training for parents, in the classroom, and at home.
- Communicate with students, families, and guardians.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Eligible for teaching certification, such as “NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities” or “Teacher of the Handicapped.”
- Eligible for highly-qualified Teacher status.
- Effective teaching, facilitation, and communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of experience teaching Special Education.
- Knowledge of teaching methods designed for students with learning, physical, and behavior disabilities.
