Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above
• Valid South Carolina teacher’s certificate in Special Education (Multicategorical Certification preferred; Learning Disabilities accepted)
• Alternate qualifications may be considered as deemed appropriate by the Board

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at times designated
• Plans a program of study that meets individual student needs, interests, and abilities while aligning with state standards
• Establishes clear objectives for all classroom activities and communicates these objectives to students
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media tailored to student needs and physical classroom limitations
• Utilizes effective classroom management strategies to foster a learning-conducive environment
• Implements the District’s educational philosophy and instructional goals
• Takes necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Maintains accurate, complete, and legally compliant records
• Performs additional duties as assigned
