Special Education Teacher- Life Skills -CCDC Coatesville

This position is located at the Child and Career Development Center in Coatesville, PA. The CCIU seeks motivated individuals to create brighter futures for students, families, and the community through a collaborative, team-based approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in education required
• 3–5 years experience working with students with intellectual disabilities, autism, and significant challenging behavior strongly preferred
• PDE certification in Special Education required
• Experience modifying general education content to meet diverse student needs required
• Prior experience in an extended school year teaching position preferred
• Current police, child abuse, and FBI fingerprint clearances
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire)

Responsibilities

• Instruct individuals in special education skill areas
• Plan curriculum, lessons, and special education programs and teaching methods
• Evaluate and monitor student progress based on classroom performance, test scores, and observation of behavior
• Support objectives and interventions of the educational program
• Maintain a safe physical environment in the classroom
• Maintain contact with parents of students and/or professionals concerning student progress
• Develop IEPs addressing specific academic, behavioral, and speech needs of students
• Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required
• Function as an integral member of the treatment/IEP team, addressing needs of students

Pay

• Instructional I: $62,155 – $89,730
• Instructional II: $64,834 – $93,324
• Master's degree: $69,353 – $101,911
• Master's degree plus 15 credits: $72,740 – $105,924
• Master's degree plus 30 credits: $74,415 – $107,845

Salary ranges are for the 2026–2027 school year (Professional).

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours/day. 194 days/year (Year 1), 191 days/year (Year 2), 190 days/year (Year 3 and beyond).
