Special Education Teacher - Learning Unlimited

Duties

• Provide educational program that promotes independent living skills and socialization skills for individuals with disabilities
• Develop, implement and evaluate lesson plans utilizing best practices
• Collaborate with other professionals in the program to purchase supplies and materials in accordance with Monroe #1 BOCES policy and within the Grant Budget
• Effectively communicate with all stakeholders
• Manage and support classroom team

Qualifications

• NYS Special Education Teacher Certification
• Experience with students with developmental and emotional disabilities
• Training in Life Crisis Intervention strategies, TCI, SCIP-R or similar problem-solving strategies preferred
• Knowledge and experience implementing NYS standards, Core Curriculum and NYS Alternative Assessment
• Proven leadership with classroom team management preferred
• Experience working with students who exhibit intense behavioral/emotional disabilities preferred
• Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation)
