Special Education Teacher – K-12

About the role

The primary responsibility is to provide instruction in a variety of subjects to students with special educational needs within a K-12 setting. This includes planning and delivering lessons that are tailored to meet the individual learning needs of each student.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans based on district curriculum standards and individual student needs.
• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and performance.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification in special education.
• Experience working with students with special educational needs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
• Experience with assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.

Pay

Salary range: $45,000 - $60,000 per year.
