Qualifications
- Hold a valid South Carolina teaching license.
- Have a minimum of 1 years of experience working in special education.
- Possess a strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
- Have experience developing and implementing IEPs.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
- Show a strong commitment to advocating for individuals with special needs.
- Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges.
- Have a deep understanding of the healthcare industry and the unique needs of patients with special needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide consultation and training to healthcare professionals on how to best support patients with special needs.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for patients to ensure they receive the support and accommodations necessary to thrive.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and therapists, to provide comprehensive care.
- Advocate for patients and their families, ensuring they are aware of and can access all available resources.
- Conduct assessments to identify patients' educational needs and monitor their progress over time.
- Provide guidance and support to families, helping them navigate the complexities of the healthcare and education systems.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest research and developments in special education, and apply this knowledge to improve patient care.
About the Role
The County School District is a school district within Berkeley County, South Carolina, United States. It is based in Moncks Corner and serves all of Berkeley County including the portion of the City of Charleston on Daniel Island and the Cainhoy Peninsula. Its attendance area is the entire county.
