Key Responsibilities
- Develop classroom schedules & implement daily academic lesson plan
- Plan activities for school vacations & summer school recreational programming
- Assist in writing & implementing school curriculum
- Write & implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Design & implement pre-vocational & vocational curriculum within the daily schedule
- Understand & implement the school behavior management program
- Design & implement individualized & group behavior management plans
- Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, & supervision
- Maintain knowledge of MCAS testing requirements, including accommodations & alternative assessment portfolios
- Gather MCAS documentation & create portfolios for spring submission
- Track student progress, complete semi-annual report cards, & prepare annual student transcripts
- Complete weekly, quarterly, & annual reports
- Maintain & organize classroom supplies & equipment
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor, including occasional emergency responsibilities related to the role
Requirements
- Must exhibit ambulatory ability sufficient to physically intervene in instances of extreme behavior that might jeopardize the safety of students & staff
- Basic computer skills
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor\'s degree in special education, education, or a related field required

\$54,540 - \$71,000 Annually, Depending On Certification & Experience

Sign-On Bonus
Latham Centers offers a Sign-On bonus for Special Education Teachers:
- Licensed Special Education Teacher - \$5,000 Sign-On Bonus (\$1,000 after successful completion of orientation; \$2,000 after 120 days; \$2,000 after 180 days)
- Non-Licensed Special Education Teacher - \$2,500 Sign-On Bonus (\$500 after successful completion of orientation; \$1,000 after 120 days; \$1,000 after 180 days)
