Special Education Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Middle School Self‑Contained Teacher to provide individualized instruction and support for students with diverse learning needs for one of our school sites in Cusseta, GA. This full‑time, on‑site position serves a caseload of 11 students and requires strong classroom management, collaboration with families and staff, and a commitment to fostering student growth in a structured environment. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Provide direct instruction in academic, social, and functional skills
• Adapt curriculum to meet varied student needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring
• Create a positive, supportive classroom environment

Requirements

• Must hold a valid Georgia certification in Adapted Curriculum
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Experience working with middle school students in self‑contained settings
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
