About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Consulting Special Education Teacher to join our healthcare team. This is a unique opportunity for a professional passionate about both education and healthcare, ready to apply special education expertise in a healthcare setting to make a difference in the lives of children with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, parents, and other educators to ensure the educational needs of students are met.
• Provide case management services for assigned students, including coordinating with other service providers, tracking progress, and advocating for student needs.
• Conduct assessments to determine student needs and progress.
• Provide consultation and support to other teachers and staff regarding special education strategies and interventions.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and healthcare.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Special Education Teacher.
• Active Colorado Special Education General Endorsement or must have already applied.
• Proven experience as a case manager and writing IEPs.
• A deep understanding of special education laws and practices.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development.
• The ability to provide four references, with at least three from supervisors.

$50 - $60 per hour
