About the role
As Western New York's leading provider of evidence-based services for children and adults with autism and other developmental, social, and behavioral challenges, our team is dedicated to helping everyone we serve achieve the highest level of independence possible. The Teacher serves as the transdisciplinary team leader and classroom manager, acting as the case manager for assigned pupils.
Responsibilities
- Establish and monitor individual casebooks, data collection, and charting systems
- Manage behavioral challenges
- Supervise and manage activities of aides assigned to the classroom
- Assure that appropriate curriculum is established and implemented
- Organize an effective classroom environment
- Administer appropriate and effective instructional strategies
- Coordinate and collaborate with Support Service Personnel
- Collaborate and effectively communicate with families and external service providers
- Demonstrate professional knowledge of children with developmental disabilities
- Demonstrate professional writing skills
- Assure deadlines are met

Requirements
- NYS Special Education Permanent certificate or Students with Disabilities B-2, 1-6, or All Grades (or actively working toward certification)
- Ability to consistently and successfully perform the essential functions of the position

Pay
Starting salary from $63,000. Competitive pay structure.
Schedule
Full-time, 37.5-hour work week, 12-month position.
