Special Education Teacher

Start Date: August 17, 2026 – 36-week contract, 38.5 hours per week.

We're seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support a K-4 self-contained classroom at Esperanza. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students reach their full potential through individualized instruction and collaboration with school staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction in a K-4 self-contained classroom.
• Collaborate with school staff and families to support student development.

Requirements

• Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certification.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).
• Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred).
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
• State Teacher Certification in one of the following preferred:
  • Standard Elementary Teaching
  • Standard Secondary Teaching
  • Standard Special Teaching
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• Current CPR (if applicable).
• TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable).
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Pay

• Local Pay: $50/hour (up to $1,925/week).
• Travel Packages Available (up to approximately $1,750+/week).
