Special Education Teacher
About the role
Provides specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities to help them achieve academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional goals outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Collaborates with educators, service providers, and families to develop and implement individualized learning plans, monitor student progress, and create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Ensures compliance with special education requirements while fostering student growth, independence, and success.
Qualifications
- Valid Wisconsin DPI Special Education teaching license appropriate to assignment
- Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and instructional best practices
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Ability to support diverse student needs and maintain required documentation and compliance standards
