About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to provide individualized support to a high school student in a school-based setting. This 1:1 assignment involves supporting a single high school student with high behavioral support needs and Level 1 medical support requirements. The teacher will collaborate with school staff, families, and support teams to implement educational programs, monitor student progress, and ensure compliance with special education requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized educational programming
- Provide specialized instruction aligned with the student's IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
- Monitor and document student progress
- Participate in team meetings and educational planning sessions
- Support positive behavioral interventions and strategies
- Maintain compliance with state, district, and federal special education regulations
- Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- Washington ESA Certificate with Special Education Endorsement
- Prior Special Education teaching experience
- Valid state teaching certification as required by district and state regulations
- Ability to meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- Minimum of one year of teaching experience
- Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education Teaching Certification
- Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- Current health certificate and TB documentation (if required)
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-11:30 AM (22.5 hours/week), 9-month contract

Up to $40/hr
