About the Role
Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications aligned to student needs.
- Create and maintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and independence.
- Differentiate instruction and utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to support diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, annual reviews, reevaluations, and transition planning.
- Implement behavioral supports, intervention plans, and classroom management strategies that foster positive student behavior.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, needs, and educational programming.
- Maintain compliance with special education regulations and documentation requirements.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and ongoing training related to special education best practices.
Requirements
- NYS Certification in Special Education
- Knowledge of NYS Learning Standards and NYSAA
- Knowledge of curriculum, effective instructional, and behavioral strategies for students with disabilities
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team

Pay
Competitive salary based on the collective bargaining agreement and relative experience.
