Special Education Teacher
Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers for multiple school-based opportunities in the Austin area for the upcoming school year. We currently have 5 openings across elementary, middle school, and high school campuses, including Resource, Inclusion, Behavior, and Structured Learning/Life Skills classrooms. These positions offer the opportunity to support students with diverse learning needs while working alongside collaborative educational teams.
Position Details

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IEPs
- Provide specialized instruction and academic support
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers
- Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation
- Participate in ARD/IEP meetings
- Implement accommodations, modifications, and behavioral supports
- Foster academic, social, and functional growth
Qualifications
- Active Texas Special Education Certification
- School-based experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Ability to support students with a variety of learning needs

About the Role
The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
