About the Role
Special Education Teacher Assistants play a vital role in supporting the academic, behavioral, and health/hygiene needs of students as directed by Special Education Teachers. Successful candidates will assist students with specialized needs to achieve their goals and reach their highest potential.
Responsibilities
- Support academic, behavioral, and health/hygiene needs of students under the direction of Special Education Teachers.
- Apply general written and verbal guidance to specific work situations.
- Lift and move up to thirty pounds without assistance or assist with lifting and moving up to fifty pounds.
Requirements
- Desire to assist students with specialized needs.
- Knowledge (or ability to obtain knowledge) of best practices for working with children and young adults with specialized needs.
Pay
$21.25 per hour.
Schedule
- Typical thirty-five hour work week.
- Work calendar with 12 paid holidays and winter/spring/summer break off each year.
