About the Role

Special Education Teacher Assistants play a vital role in supporting the academic, behavioral, and health/hygiene needs of students as directed by Special Education Teachers. Successful candidates will assist students with specialized needs to achieve their goals and reach their highest potential.

Responsibilities

  • Support academic, behavioral, and health/hygiene needs of students under the direction of Special Education Teachers.
  • Apply general written and verbal guidance to specific work situations.
  • Lift and move up to thirty pounds without assistance or assist with lifting and moving up to fifty pounds.

Requirements

  • Desire to assist students with specialized needs.
  • Knowledge (or ability to obtain knowledge) of best practices for working with children and young adults with specialized needs.

Pay

$21.25 per hour.

Schedule

  • Typical thirty-five hour work week.
  • Work calendar with 12 paid holidays and winter/spring/summer break off each year.
