About the role
The Student Support Advisor role is dedicated to enhancing student and Learning Coach engagement to boost academic growth. The position aims to provide consistent support throughout the student journey.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a caseload of students assigned by the school, ensuring engagement through interventions like Learning Coach training, catch-up sessions, and time management.
- Offer consistent proactive support to students utilizing data resources.
- Support students and Learning Coaches during the Onboarding (Strong Start) process.
- Act as the primary point of contact between students, Learning Coaches, and teachers/administration.
- Pursue and apply continuous education and training to enhance effectiveness with students' and Learning Coaches' evolving needs.
Requirements
- Must reside in Michigan.
- Two (2) years of college education and two (2) years of experience in education, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Ability to pass a required background check.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced work environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and web proficiency.
- Familiarity with online learning experiences and quick learning of new technology tools.
- Experience supporting adults and children in learning and using technology.
Qualifications
- Four (4) years of college education preferred.

This is a home-based position requiring occasional visits to the office, with a noise level in the office usually moderate due to computer usage, printers, and light foot traffic.
