About the role

University Prep is an educational institution dedicated to providing every K-5 scholar with a four-year college degree and a life of opportunity. The position of Special Education Elementary Paraprofessionals is available for the 2025-2026 school year.

Responsibilities

• Embody mission and vision of University Prep along with the organization’s core values.
• Teach, support, and enhance school-wide systems and expectations at all times with all children.
• Provide classroom supports to students. This includes (but is not limited to): preparation and distribution of classroom materials, support during arrival, dismissal, and snack/bathroom.
• Provide 1:1 support to scholars as needed.
• Support during school wide events and/or field trips.
• Completed administrative tasks as needed to support a grade level team.

• Unyielding optimism that children can perform at or above grade level regardless of where they may be starting their educational journey.
• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year working in urban education and/or with a diverse student population.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Strong organizational skills as evidenced by exceptional time and task management.
• A “whatever it takes” disposition.
• Ability to work in person/in the school building. This is not a remote/telecommuting role.
• Openness to feedback and a strong desire for continual growth and development as a professional.
• Willingness to take responsibility for scholar outcomes and achievement without excuse.
• Demonstrated track record of operating with a growth mindset and deep humility in all previous roles.
• Bilingual strongly preferred (English/Spanish).

Benefits

• Option to work full time or part time depending upon availability and desire.
• Hourly rate $23- $28/hr. Depending on experience.

Pay

Hourly rate $23- $28/hr. Depending on experience.
