About the role
The Robert Frost Elementary School is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the Mild/Moderate endorsement. The position is 1.0 FTE and starts with the 2026-2027 school year.
Responsibilities
- Create a positive learning environment for students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and lifelong learning skills.
- Motivate students to acquire the necessary skills, attitudes, and knowledge for future education and success.
- Adapt the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Utilize effective teaching techniques and technology to enhance student learning.
- Supervise students in various settings, including indoor and outdoor activities.
- Evaluate students' academic and social growth and maintain appropriate records.
- Communicate with parents through various means to discuss student progress.
- Collaborate with other professionals to support students' personal and academic growth.
- Implement Proficiency-Based Learning and the Granite Way.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional competence.
Requirements
- Hold a Utah Special Education teaching license, an out-of-state Special Education teaching license, or be enrolled in an approved in-state Special Education program.
- Have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university and be eligible for an Associate Educator License through the Utah State Board of Education.
- Meet or be willing to meet the Utah Science of Reading Requirement (S.B. 241).
