About the role
Ridgewood Public Schools is seeking a Special Education teacher at Willard Elementary School.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in reading and writing using multisensory instructional approaches
- Deliver strategic instruction to students
- Apply behavior management training and skills
- Progress monitor goals and objectives
- Write PLAAFPs and ensure overall IEP compliance
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and administrators both verbally and in writing
- Work collaboratively and maintain harmonious relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
Qualifications
- New Jersey Elementary Teacher Certification
- New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped Certification
- Experience and proficiency in special instruction
- Experience working in both inclusion and resource settings with special education students in grades K-5
- Skilled in strategic instruction
- Skilled in strategic instruction in the NJ Student Learning Standards
- Knowledge of multi-sensory instructional strategies (structured literacy certification preferred)
- Demonstrate independent initiative for professional growth
- Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills
Pay & Schedule
- Full-time, long term substitute position
- Start date: Immediately
- End date: September 28, 2026
- Salary: $185.00 per day
