About the role

Position is from approximately October 1, 2026 through February 26, 2027.

Implement direct and explicit academic and specially designed instruction across content areas using a multi-sensory approach, differentiated strategies, and research-based techniques. This includes the use of modified content, methodology, performance criteria, and assistive/educational technology in the classroom for designated students receiving services in an inclusive general education environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and co-teach with grade-level classroom teachers, other special education teachers, and specialists to provide comprehensive and effective services to assigned students.
  • Promote and assist in implementing appropriate strategies to ensure the transition and generalization of students' academic and social goals within the regular education environment and throughout the school.
  • Serve as the contact person for a designated caseload, including completion of all associated paperwork (monitoring student performance, writing IEPs/progress reports, etc.).
  • Manage the Team process, including conducting Annual Reviews, conferencing with parents and Team members, and maintaining communication between teachers, specialists, families, and outside providers.
  • Utilize appropriate classroom management strategies, including a comprehensive positive behavior intervention system, to ensure a successful and motivating instructional environment.
  • Use a multi-disciplinary approach to gather various sources of information for progress monitoring and routinely implement data-based decision-making practices to guide instruction and lesson planning.
  • Provide supervision to assigned paraprofessionals as needed.
  • Consult with staff and administration on instructional and student issues as an active, participatory Team member.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably required by the Director of Special Education.
