Special Education Inclusion Teacher - H.Y. Livesay Middle School

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with general education teachers to co-plan, differentiate instruction, and co-teach lessons in the mainstream classroom.
• Write, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and hold regular meetings with parents and administrative staff.
• Adapt assignments, tests, and classroom materials so students with diverse learning needs can access the grade-level curriculum.
• Track student growth through regular assessments and adjust teaching interventions as necessary.
• Create and execute targeted behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to support positive social-emotional growth.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Licensure: Valid Tennessee teaching license with the appropriate Special Education endorsement
• Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of Tennessee state academic standards, child development, and local/federal IDEA laws.
