About the role
The Special Education Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the special education program within the district, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing support to teachers and students. -
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement special education programs that meet the needs of students with disabilities.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Ensure all special education services are provided in accordance with federal and state guidelines.
- Monitor student progress and adjust educational plans as necessary.
- Provide professional development opportunities for staff on special education best practices.
- Oversee the administration of standardized tests and assessments.

Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid teaching license in Special Education.
- At least 5 years of experience working with students with disabilities.
- Experience with IEP development and implementation.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications
- Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with data management systems.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
