Education/Experience Required
- AA degree or 48 semester hours
- Passing scores on WorkKeys exam
Preferred Qualifications
- CPI training (training provided)
- CPR/First Aid (training provided)
- Previous experience working in school setting or with children with special needs
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to move quickly from one position to another in response to student needs
- Upper body strength with the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Paraprofessional experience preferred
- Bilingual skills preferred, but not required
Essential Job Functions
- Support the academic programming and progress of individual students and/or small groups of students with identified significant needs
- Provide student specific personal care and support
- Assist with daily classroom activities
- Assist in data collection
- Sanitize equipment and materials
- Provide to the staff
Additional Qualifications
- Knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to perform the function of the position
- Ability to provide student specific personal care support to students
- Previous experience working in school setting or with children with special needs
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to move quickly from one position to another in response to student needs
- Desire to work in team setting
- Positive attitude
- Upper body strength with the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
