Education/Experience Required

  • AA degree or 48 semester hours
  • Passing scores on WorkKeys exam

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPI training (training provided)
  • CPR/First Aid (training provided)
  • Previous experience working in school setting or with children with special needs
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to move quickly from one position to another in response to student needs
  • Upper body strength with the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Paraprofessional experience preferred
  • Bilingual skills preferred, but not required

Essential Job Functions

  • Support the academic programming and progress of individual students and/or small groups of students with identified significant needs
  • Provide student specific personal care and support
  • Assist with daily classroom activities
  • Assist in data collection
  • Sanitize equipment and materials
  • Provide to the staff

Additional Qualifications

  • Knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to perform the function of the position
  • Ability to provide student specific personal care support to students
  • Previous experience working in school setting or with children with special needs
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to move quickly from one position to another in response to student needs
  • Desire to work in team setting

  • Upper body strength with the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
