About the role

M.S.A.D. #4 is seeking to hire two Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year in Abbot, Cambridge, Guilford, Parkman, Sangerville, and Wellington.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction to students with special needs
• Develop and implement educational plans based on student needs
• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to ensure student success
• Evaluate student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid Maine Teaching License
• Experience working with students with special needs preferred

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of current special education practices and standards

Skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in using technology for lesson planning and student assessment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
