About the role

The Senior Sourcing Specialist at Corewell Health will lead strategic sourcing initiatives to support clinical and operational needs. This role manages the full sourcing lifecycle, including Request for Proposals (RFPs), contract negotiations, supplier management, stakeholder engagement, and contracting. The ideal candidate will have healthcare sourcing experience, preferably in the clinical space, and demonstrate expertise in cost optimization, compliance, and supplier performance management.

Candidates will act as the key contact and subject matter expert for all strategic supplier management activities, identifying, developing, and managing a preferred supply base that aligns with Corewell Health strategies and goals. This role provides supply chain vision, decision-making, and execution support to assigned service lines, products, or support areas, while developing strong supplier relationships and ensuring effective internal and external communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of strategies and goals for assigned categories in support of overall business objectives.
• Develop and lead cross-functional teams to create strategic category plans and consolidation strategies.
• Lead sourcing analysis and selection processes, perform cost analyses, and develop contract strategies.
• Negotiate, establish, monitor, and enforce supplier contracts and agreements.
• Develop and benchmark best practices among suppliers; identify supply base risks and implement mitigation plans, including market assessments, supplier financial assessments, social responsibility, environmental, and ethical considerations.
• Obtain and communicate market condition information and technology trends related to commodities and suppliers; utilize market trends to identify and implement cost controls and business strategy changes.
• Manage and develop continuous improvement programs addressing quality, delivery, service, and cost.
• Collaborate across functions, departments, and campuses to develop scorecards and business reviews for key suppliers; organize and lead scorecard review meetings and business reviews.
• Create and implement enterprise-wide metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing and supplier activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• 5 years of relevant experience in supply management with a focus on strategic sourcing and supplier development.
• 5 years of relevant experience with supplier processes and supply chain risk factors, including assessing and mitigating risk in the supply base.
• 5 years of relevant experience with continuous improvement methodologies and cost reduction methodologies.
• 5 years of relevant experience operating in a highly regulated industry.

Qualifications

Preferred:

• Master's Degree.
• Professional certifications through APICS, ISM, AHRMM, and/or CSCMP (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
• Medical device industry sourcing and supplier management experience.

Schedule

• Full-time position.
• Day shift: Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• Weekly scheduled hours: 40.
