SPD Technician- Certified

About the role

The Retina Institute of Illinois is seeking a SPD Surgical Technician to support their team. The ideal candidate will have 0-3 years of experience, current BCLS certification, and the ability to work in a sterile environment.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, maintaining, and anticipating instrument and procedural needs for all surgical procedures
• Obtaining supplies from other areas as needed
• Returning supplies and equipment to the appropriate location
• Aiding in keeping the Central Sterile area neat and orderly
• Effectively handling health or safety hazards for self and patients
• Reporting any unusual occurrences or incidents accurately to the Clinical Director
• Performing other duties as required

Requirements

• 0-3 years of experience
• Maintains current BCLS certification and completes required annual in-services
• Works in a surgery center environment with healthcare interactions including patient contact, hazardous chemicals, and infectious disease
• Understands and follows instructions with speed and accuracy
• Organizes and sets priorities for work
• Possesses manual dexterity, mobility, visual acuity, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, attendance, and good interpersonal skills
