About the role

The SPD Installation and Service Technician plays a crucial role in the installation, commissioning, and start-up of critical water purification systems. This role is essential for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of water purification systems in sterile processing departments.

Responsibilities

  • Authorize real-time decisions regarding the setup, configuration, and operational adjustments of water purification systems to ensure they meet critical water standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive system checks, diagnostics, and performance validations to verify that all equipment operates correctly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with healthcare facility management, sterile processing teams, and equipment manufacturers to schedule, report issues, and make recommendations.
  • Provide training and guidance to facility staff on the proper use and maintenance of critical water systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of critical water purification systems.
  • In-depth understanding of water purification systems, including Water Softeners, Filtration, Reverse Osmosis (RO), and Deionization (DI) systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues related to water treatment equipment and systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with healthcare staff, facility management, and equipment manufacturers.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to address and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment related to system installation, maintenance, and repair, including pressure gauges, multi-meters, and calibration tools.

Qualifications and Capabilities

  • Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting heavy equipment, working in confined spaces, and standing for extended periods.
  • Good depth perception and ability to distinguish different colors.
  • Sufficient hearing to hear verbal and audible signals at a moderate distance.
  • Strong customer service skills to effectively manage client relationships, address concerns, and provide training and support to facility staff as needed.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $60,000 annually.

Schedule

The typical work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility is often required to accommodate the varying schedules and urgent needs of healthcare facilities, including occasional weekend work.
