About the role
St. James Regional Catholic Elementary School is seeking a part-time Spanish teacher for the 2026-27 school year.
Responsibilities
- Teach Spanish language courses to students at assigned grade or proficiency levels
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
- Encourage student participation through interactive activities and conversation practice
- Assess student progress through quizzes, assignments, and classroom participation
- Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles
- Communicate with parents, staff, and administration regarding student progress when needed
- Incorporate cultural elements into lessons to enhance language learning
- Foster positive relationships with students while modeling Christian values and respectful behavior
- Support the school's Catholic mission and participate in school activities as appropriate
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students and school matters
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field preferred
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
