About the Role
This position supports the Diocese of Phoenix in its mission to Encounter the Living Christ by creating Spanish videos for the weekly televised Mass, diocesan website, and social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, and YouTube) under the supervision of the Director of Communications. The role involves producing compelling content to inspire, inform, and evangelize while maintaining a robust pipeline across all social platforms.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Director of Communications and staff to produce engaging Spanish-language content that resonates and provokes engagement.
- Shoot, edit, write copy, and publish videos in Spanish for diocesan platforms.
- Collaborate with the team to grow social media presence and relationships with local Spanish media.
- Develop videos and podcasts exclusively for Spanish-speaking audiences.
- Ingest and export video content.
- Occasional board operations for podcast production and streaming.
- Perform additional job-related duties to ensure smooth operations within the Communications Office.
Requirements
- Ability to create scripts and video packages for evangelization.
- Understanding of copyright law for music and video.
- Excellent grammar, writing, and copy-editing skills.
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere video editing.
- Videography skills and knowledge of industry-standard video hardware (cameras, lighting, teleprompter, etc.).
- Still photography skills (a plus).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- Active practicing Roman Catholic in full communion with the Church.
- Ability to articulate a clear understanding of the Catholic faith and serve as a committed witness to its mission.
- Degree in journalism, communication, or related field (preferred).
- Three-plus years of experience in video production (required).
- Bilingual (preferred).
- Valid Arizona driver’s license and ability to travel within the Diocese for work-related duties.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The role may require lifting, moving, holding, and carrying video equipment, as well as frequent bending or standing.
