Spanish Language Instructor, Grades 9-12; Full-time

About the role

The Spanish Language Teacher will join Stevenson School's Upper Division campus in Pebble Beach, a PK-12 co-educational, college-preparatory, boarding and day school located on two beautiful Central Coast California campuses. Responsibilities

• Teach up to five sections of Spanish
• Provide feedback and/or grading of assessments and assignments in a timely manner
• Clear expectations and remain appropriately accessible to students
• Support student learning through various pedagogical approaches
• Act as a competent, trusted, reliable, and informed advisor to assigned group of students
• Engage with students through and meet expectations of assigned co-curricular activities

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in or related to target language, master’s degree preferred
• Minimum of 3-years of previous teaching of world languages at a similar grade level
• Strong English language speaking and writing skills
• Experience with and a willingness to utilize T.P.R.S. and C.I. methods
• Demonstrated confidence and aptitude with the use of instructional technology and computer-assisted language learning and assessment tools
• Demonstrated participation in professional development opportunities
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with all members of the community
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy

Qualifications

• Native or near-native Spanish proficiency
• Content expertise with the capacity and enthusiasm to teach all levels up to and including AP Spanish Literature

Skills

• Aptitude with educational technology
• Familiarity with T.P.R.S. and C.I.

• Competitive salary range: $55,000 - $90,000 based on experience
